The FloGrown lifestyle extends far beyond the Florida shore. We are lucky to not only have thousands of miles of coastline to enjoy, but our state’s location puts us in close proximity to some of the most beautiful islands in the world. While we cherish every opportunity to boat over and fish with our neighbors, all Floridians must also realize that the nations that surround us often bear the brunt of tropical storms, making them less impactful when they finally arrive in Florida.
Our waters have contended with sizable storms over the last four years — most recently, Hurricane Dorian ravaged our friends and family members in the Bahamas. This Category 5 Hurricane was recorded as the most powerful storm to ever hit the Bahamas, leaving behind a profound level of devastation that forever changed the lives of those that call this land home.
When Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas, men and women from the Sunshine State responded without hesitation. Those with boats continue to make supply runs delivering food, water and medicine, while thousands of others share their compassion and generosity from home by donating goods and raising money for the thousands of Bahamians that are still recovering from Hurricane Dorian’s destruction.

This family owned and operated company is known for their exceptional customer service, unrivaled installation and repairs, and reliable equipment. The Bahamas are a mere 50 miles off the coast of Florida, less than the distance separating Walt Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center. We’re a few short waves away from the food, flair and fishing that you can only find in the Bahamas so it comes as no surprise that these islands hold a special place in the hearts of many Floridians. It would be an understatement to say that the Bahamas need our love and support now more than ever.
Join us in supporting the many ongoing official and private Bahamas relief efforts. Any monetary contribution, donation of goods or gift of your time will positively impact the lives of our Bahamian neighbors. We may share our seas, but unfortunately, the Bahamas regularly face the strongest impacts from tropical storm force winds, rain and swells with limited protection and evacuation options. Let’s come together and help restore these beautiful islands.
